Poker Fish List

This is a compilation of low limit Texas Holdem players who play at Party Poker and Empire Poker. Each of these players play on the $25 and $50 buy in No Limit tables. This list was compiled after observing over 30,000 hands with Poker Tracker. Using it will help your table selection so you can figure out who you want to play with, and who you want to avoid. The players have been broken down into their respective classifications in the links below. Only the people who represent a large +EV or -EV are represented here. Many of the basic ABC players who play slightly too many hands, don't play too passive or too aggressive are not listed yet.

Calling Stations These are players who play a lot of hands and play them passively. You won't see them raising either preflop or after the flop very often. They tend to call you down with losing hands in order to "keep you honest" They are my favorite players to have at a table. They one most important rule of thumb is don't bluff them, but if you have a halfway decent hand bet it.

Fish These players see a lot of flops and then check/call. If one comes out betting it means that he has a hand. They tend to lose a lot of money over time and I want them at my table. I play against them by loosening up my starting hands a little bit (so that I am seeing about 20% of the flops) and playing very aggressively when I hit

Rocks These players are very tight and play passively. Will fold if they don't hit anything and may not bet when they do hit. You can often take their blinds, but it is hard to take them for a big pot because they only get involved with good hands. I am neutral whether I want them at my table or not. I would play against them by picking on their blinds and bluffing more often. I wouldn't call their bets without a great hand of my own.

Tight Aggressive Usually recommended as the best playing strategy, I try to avoid them if I can. They don't play too many hands, but bet a lot and often when they do. Be prepared for bluffs and check raises as well as blind stealing. I would play agains them by tightening up, but playing the hands I play very aggressively. I would call them down more often than rocks because they can often make multiple bluffs at pots.

Maniacs These players play lots of pots and bet the hell out of them. They can be profitable to play against, but be prepared for large swings in your stack. I play against them by folding bad hand after bad hand and then betting/trapping when I hit a good one.

Headings Explained

Player Name - Pretty obvious, these are players on the party / empire poker network.

Total $ Won - Amount won or lost over the hands observed

Total hands observed - number of hands the statistics track over

Voluntarily put money in the pot - The percent of time that he called to see a flop when he wasn't in the big blind. Over 25% is loose, under 15% is very tight.

Preflop Raise - Percent of time that they raised preflop. Over 10% is high, under 2% very low.

Total Aggression - Amount of time they raise vs the amount of time they call. An aggression of under 1 is low, over 2.5 is high.

Went to showdown - How often they saw a showdown when they saw a flop.
